Joseph Weinstein, DO, specializes in joint and spinal surgery at Comprehensive Orthopedic & Spine Care in New York. Dr. Weinstein treats orthopedic conditions ranging from patellofemoral pain syndrome to herniated discs.
He excels in knee and shoulder arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and musculoskeletal trauma. Dr. Weinstein’s areas of expertise include minimally invasive spine surgery, micro-surgery, computer-assisted spine surgery, athletic spine injuries, motion-preserving procedures, and spinal abnormality correction. Dr. Weinstein earned his medical degree in 2008 from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM) in Old Westbury, New York. He completed his orthopedic residency with the North Shore/LIJ Health System at their Far Rockaway and Plainview hospitals in New York, serving as the academic chief resident.
In 2014, Dr. Weinstein completed further spine and scoliosis surgery training at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City.
Dr. Weinstein has presented his research in orthopedic trauma and spine surgery at regional, national, and international meetings worldwide. Surgeons from professional institutions like the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons have integrated Dr. Weinstein’s research into their operating room practices.
Dr. Weinstein has also authored many articles featured in leading publications like the American Journal of Orthopedics and the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery.
Dr. Weinstein is an active member of several distinguished medical societies, including the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the North American Spine Society (NASS), AO Spine North America, and the HSS Spine Fellowship Alumni Association. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS). In his spare time, Dr. Weinstein plays the violin and saxophone. He enjoys travel, skiing, boating, and golf.
